Andrew Gardner Direct Support Professional
Andrew is also a long-time friend of the Grelling family. Andrew began volunteering at Grelling Residential Home, teaching our residents to play the guitar. With Andrews steady personality, his voluntary service soon developed into an employment situation. Andrew has accompanied our residents to the nearby out door recreational facilities, shopping centers, as well as Disneyland in Anaheim.
Mr. Gardner has worked a variety of shifts, working as the second staff person during the afternoon week day shift and as the over-night staff person on weekends.
Andrew plays the bass guitar in the worship band at his church in the city of Walnut, and he attends Mt. Sac. Community College.
Bettye Grelling, MA Direct Support Professional
Mrs. Grelling is a retired public school teacher. She specialized in the subject areas of English literature, television development, and reading. At Grelling Residential Home, Bettye brings her many skills to Saturday mornings and week days when a resident needs to stay home from work or day program.
Mrs. Grelling lives with her husband, serves in her church in Glendora, and spends much of her time caring for her many grandchildren.
Deanna Sullender Direct Support Professional
Ms. Sullender is a long-time friend of Russ and Ann Grelling. For four years, she had worked closely with Ann in the development and implementation of many community service projects in the East San Gabriel Valley region.
She has been a highly valued care provider, employed at Grelling Residential Home, since Grelling Residential Home opened. Deanna prepares delicious evening meals, assists residents with their medications, and participates in evening activities, such as, board games, walks, shopping, and exercising. She has accompanied our residents on trips and activities like the recent Mighty Duck’s game at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Deanna’s consistent and dependable demeanor brings an important sense of safety to the residents of our home.
Her primary services are provided during the week day shift between 2:00 PM 10:00 PM.
Ms. Sullender is presently a student at Citrus Community College. She plays the bass guitar in the worship band at her church in Monrovia.
Donna Marie Hansen Direct Support Professional
Mrs. Hansen is not only a certified Direct Support Professional, she is also a Certified Nurses Assistant. We are fortunate to have her wide variety of skills at Grelling Residential Home.
Donna works many of our night shifts. She is that warm caring person available if our residents wake up unexpectedly or develop certain health needs over night.
Donna Marie enjoys playing recreational volleyball and swimming throughout the week. She plays her guitar and sings in a coffee shop on weekends, as well as plays the organ at her church on Sunday mornings.
Jonathan Venegas Direct Support Professional
Jonathan came to Grelling Residential Home highly recommended by close friends. Immediately, he was able to build strong rapport with both our male and female residents. John has worked both weekday afternoon shifts as well as over night shifts. Our residents enjoy John’s guitar lessons as well as their walks to the nearby basketball courts.
Jonathan attends Citrus Community College, and he plays the guitar in the worship band at his church in San Dimas.
Kassie Beard Direct Support Professional
Ms. Beard was recommended to the Grellings by close friends. With her strong communication skills, she has been very effective in helping our residents meet their individualized goals.
Kassie is appreciated for her “home cooking” of meals and pastries, as well as her professional hair designs, and arts and crafts. Kassie has accompanied our residents to various recreational activities such as Disneyland, the bowling alley, shopping, hair salons, and shops for pedicures. Kassie has worked all of the shifts at Grelling Residential Home, demonstrating flexibility along with her professionalism.
Kassie has attended Chaffey Community College and Masters College. Kassie has played the guitar and served as a vocalist in the worship band at her church in Chino.
Vivian Snelson Direct Support Professional
Mrs. Snelson is a long-time friend of the Grellings. She brings a rich world of experiences into the Grelling Residential Home.
Highly experienced in care provision before she began working with the Grellings, Vivian brings warmth, companionship, and a strong emphasis upon nutrition into our “family style” home. She has taught the women residents to knit, and she has delighted all with her breakfast dishes. Speaking Spanish fluently and beautifully, Mrs. Snelson has made our Spanish speaking residents and families feel very comfortable. Vivian has worked Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning shifts.
Vivian has been a life time partner with her husband in the development of their international orthopedic and prosthetics businesses. Through their family foundation, she and her husband have developed, financed, and personally flown prosthetics to land mine victims in war torn countries all over the world. |
